The name 'Raanjhanaa' derives from Ranjha from the story of Heer-Ranjha. It's addressing someone you love. And is used preferably for a male.
Have you ever been someone's Raanjhanaa? Truly?
The streets of Varanasi, the little things that Sonam did, the way she put the black dupatta around her face while riding the scooter with Dhanush, the festivals shown, the Ganges...everything, every possible thing reminded me of only one person. The girl who came from Varanasi, and then one fine day I met her.
And by now Most of us know who she is.
The fact that I watched Sleepless in Seattle and Raanjhanaa back to back days has made me a kind of 'never-been-such-romantic' thing. And add to that I'm leaving the city tomorrow. Maybe forever. And this could well mean that the last time we met, five years ago, would be the last time we met, for this lifetime.
Whoaah..! I have written much. :)
Take care people. While a hopeless romantic guy roams around taking his chances deep down in south India. This is your writer signing off from the no-private room. I guess the time really came when I succeeded to get rid of the confinement I was in.
