The waiting never ends

The waiting never ends. That's the best and worst part of it. Life.

We wait for someone special. Someone comes in. We wait some time to get friendly. Then we wait for the time to come when we should meet, at a perfect place and at a perfect time. Then we actually meet each other. The so-longed wishes and smiles and laughs and blushings. The enjoyment of it. Then we part.

If we are unlucky, one of the parties will feel bored and wander away. And the waiting for the other person will be eternal. But  if we are lucky, then both parties wait now, for the next meeting. Meanwhile we wait for the other person to advance, in any possible way. We wait for the friendship to grow. The waiting continues. Wait for another meeting. Wait for holding hands. Wait for lone, good times together. And the list goes on.

And that's the beauty of it.

No one has seen the day and the night simultaneously. No one has seen both sides of a coin, at a single instance. No one has cried and laughed on one given moment.

But the person who waits, has seen the day and the night simultaneously. She has seen both sides of the coin, at a single instance. She has cried and laughed out loud in her moments of joy and happiness. Because she is the one who doesn't know which world she belongs to. In her dreams she has seen herself in the arms of another person, and then she woke up in silence in her lonely bed to realise she was really alone. Because there is still hope left for her. Because she can always be happy thinking about the possible future about which she has dreamt and fancied every single moment in her mind, and because she can weep nights thinking about what went wrong in her life.

But the waiting never ends. And that's the best part of it. Because the waiting... it keeps her alive.

Notes from a living room: 45

Some doors remain closed forever with two people who love each other on either side of it.

Gori Teri Aankhen Kahe - Lyrics

Gori Teri Aankhen Kahe
Raat Bhar Sooyi Nahi
Chanda Dekhe Chupke Kahi
Aur Taare Jaante Hain Sabhi
Ke Kisne Dil Le Liya
Kisko Dil De Diya
Yeh Dil Ka Lagana Koi Jaanta Nahi
Gori Teri Aankhen Kahe
Raat Bhar Sooyi Nahi

Dil Mein Teri Yaad Basi

Tu Samjhe Ga Nahi
Jo Hain Mere Paas Hai Tera
Mera Kuch Nahi
Kyun Aankhiya Chupao
Kyun Tujhko Satao
Dil Tod Ke Tera
Mein Kya Pao
Bol Piya Bol Piya Bol
Piya Bol Piya Bol Piyaaa Bol

Saajan Teri Baatein Badi

Ke Mein Raat Bhar Sooyi Nahi
Chanda Ne Bhi Dekha Nahi
Aur Taaro Ko Yeh Maloom Nahi
Ke Meine Tujhe Dil Diya
Tera Dil Le Liya
Mera Tu Hi Hain Bahana
Kyun Manta Nahi
Saajan Teri Baatein Badi
Ke Mein Raat Bhar Sooyi Nahi

Aate Jaate Mausam Jaise

Lagte The Sabhi
Humne Bhi To Manga Rab Se
Apna Bhi Koi
Duniya Se Bachao
Palko Mein Chupao
Dil Jeet Ke Tera
Sab Ko Batao
Sun Gori Sun Gori Sun Gori Sun
Sun Gori Sun Gori Sun

Gori Teri Aankhen Kahe

Jaane Anjaane Mein Kahin
Chanda Ne Bhi Dekha Nahi
Aur Taaro Ne Bhi Jaana Nahi
Ke Tune Mujhe Dil Diya
Mera Dil De Diya
Mera Jeene Ka Bahana
Koi Aur Nahi

Gori Teri Aankhen.......

Notes from a living room: 44

Another jk stuff! A tongue twister I had made when I was in first year of my college, that I remembered suddenly.

The way you display dandyism and dangle behind your damsel has just dandered me up, and one day will come when I shall daze and dazzle dafts like you, decoy your delilah without demur, deflorate her in a desolate place crossing my decorum, leaving debauchee like you in despair. Done?

LOL.

Though it was made as a part of a story, and the story never really happened, but this tongue twister stayed with me.

Notes from a living room: 43

Jk!

The amount of willpower needed to control oneself from wishing someone on her birthday who is not in your friend-list and after whom, you have wasted more than one-fourth of your life, in turn not even getting a mere friendship in return; is equal to the amount of emotion you waste on mourning, gloom, depression and dejection over the years of your loneliness without that person shown over a period of time to your close friends and secret diary writings, sometimes being public blogs; in turn being greater than equal to the amount of love and affection a normal and happy couple who are not married but are in a steady relationship for a good amount of time share; finally being close to infinity.

lol. Happy Birthday, nevertheless. Poor souls, never read my blog.

Notes from a living room: 42

Okay, so I have started writing another Bengali story named 'যে মানুষ উড়তে চেয়েছিল'. And strangely enough, I have picked up the name of the heroine of this story from the name of a building near the Mudiali Club, Lake Place. Hoping to finish it within a couple of days and type it in my computer. By the way, writing in Bengali remained stagnant for a long time because I had to uninstall Avro keyboard software from my computer a few months ago as it wasn't working properly then. But all is well again.

Had sent 'নররাক্ষস' to the newspaper 'Ei samay', but I haven't seen it getting published, so, I guess it went to the trash, again.

Oh and by the way, I have got a moderately good score in IBPS common exam for Bank PO selection and am waiting for the interview dates.

And that's that.

And yes, life's mundane.

I am through with love

"I'm through with love
I'll never fall again
Said adieu to love
Don't ever call again
For I must love you or no one
And so I'm through with love
I've locked my heart
I'll keep my feelings there
I've stocked my heart
With icy, frigid air
And I mean to care for no one."

Letters Have Love Stories

Our male protagonist for this story is letter A. And the female protagonist is letter B. So our story starts when the lovely little girl B comes from a distant and beautiful place V to a busy, crowded city C. But she doesn’t meet our central character right away, because the lonely little A is currently busy with his bohemian life in a mess. They meet however, on an occasion where both A and B find each other attractive, attractive enough to like each other. Our hero A is an Aries and automatically becomes the centre of attraction in the said occasion and B, with her charming Scorpio looks and mysterious words, proves herself as the new girl in the town. They part each other, saying nothing, but swear to themselves that they are going to meet again, very soon.

But life weaves different plans for both of them as they fall apart. And then the old rule of ‘out of sight, out of mind’ takes over their attraction for each other. In the meantime A meets another girl C. C is beautiful, calm and friendly, and has a steady boyfriend D. A and C become friends. Within one year, C and D fight and break up. And then sooner than anything, C finds herself closer to A.

For A, C could’ve been perfect match, with her hitherto friendly, gentle and helping attitude towards him. So one fine morning he decides to gift her a rose and heads towards a meeting with C. While A reaches the place of the meeting he finds another boy E with C, whom she introduces to him as a friend. A remembers E faintly from the common place they used to visit. E has a steady girlfriend F. As the story progresses A fails to gift C the rose from the nearby market. He also fails to speak up his mind to C. In the due course of time, A falls sick and hears rumours about E and C. Within a few days, A makes C know about his feelings as C rejects him. There is a certain distance between A and C. they don’t talk, and fall apart. After two hundred days, he comes to know that C was in physical relationship with E, but as C realised afterwards that E was only using her, she has let him go. A realises C’s story and wants to help again. C refuses him again. This time A goes away from C’s life, once, and for all.

A is lonely. His mind and heart is filled with the bitterness that was left behind by C. He tries to contact B but she, very astonishingly for A, rejects all the possibilities of a contact. He becomes dejected again. And then all of a sudden, he finds another girl G in his life. G is naturally joyous, smiling, and beautiful. One of the most wonderful creation of alphabet. A and G talk several things about life, all day long. They smile, laugh, fight with each other, and then again they realise the importance of their friendship and calls it a truce on the neutral ground. A falls for G. He starts believing that she is the one for him. And then one fine morning A wakes up to realise G is engaged to one of his best friends H. Life is shattered for him. The dreams he saw comes to a catastrophe again. he realises he cannot go and tell G about his feelings, because that will end their friendship again. And in a position he was, he couldn’t help but tell her how he felt, for her. So he stands up. Keeps a stone at his heart, and then tells G to go away from his life, and never come back. G swears in her heart not to talk to A again for his behaviour. A is content, because he ended a friendship for the sake of another, but he has tears in his eyes, for he lost his happiness again.

In the due course of time, three more girls namely - I, J and K comes in A’s life, in the hope that they can know A and give him a chance to fall in love with them. But for A life was never the same. He takes a mundane job, works there for three years and then leaves the Country I and goes to country G for higher education. Two more years and he finds himself in another country U. Now he is older, mature. He knows about the deals of life.

In the country U, one day, he meets B. They both are surprised to see each other. It’s been almost ten years they talked. They sit at a coffee shop and chat all day long. They chat about their lives, what had happened to them in the meantime they were out of contact. They look at each other’s eyes and keep smiling. It’s been a seriously long time they were looking at each other. They realise that only the time had moved on once they fell apart, but inside, they felt the same for each other.

A and B return to their country I. They get married. A realises that C has been married to D, as she thought they would be. G has also been married to that best friend of him, H…as they promised to each other. E has also got married to his long-time girlfriend F. It seems that life, for all was happy and full of love.

A and B are happy in their married life now. A has confessed to B that though he had liked many girls, in the course of time, B was always the one for him. B has also confessed that, though she got many a proposals from guys like L, M, N, O and P, she had always waited for the right person to come at the right time. After a few years, they have a son and a daughter. They name them Q and R. They live with their parents at S avenue now. A and B also have two pets namely T – a dog of wolf origin and U – a white owl. A and B’s parents namely - V, W, X, Y have a complete family now. Life was never happier for all of them.

Such a wonderful story. Isn’t it? Yours sincerely writer Z things the same too.

Notes from a living room: 41

A couple of days ago I finished my 200th post in my blog.

There are a few reasons why I find this modern culture so repelling.

The Magician

Part 1.

“Do you want to see some magic?” A voice asked her, from behind.

Rinita was late already. It was half past ten in the night and yet she was on the road, almost a mile away from her home. The institution from which she was returning made them leave late tonight. Moreover, she chatted with her boyfriend for some time before ultimately leaving the place. She had already called her home to tell that she’d be reaching late tonight. But still, ten-thirty in the night at this part in Kolkata in this time of the year is not safe at all. Winter is on the cards, so the possibilities of people roaming around late were next to nil. What was worse, there was a sociopath killer on the move.

“Do you want to see some magic?” The voice asked again.

Rinita looked back.

Before her, stood a medium heighted fellow. He was slightly bent, and even if she couldn’t see his face, it looked like as if age has started marking its presence on his spinal cords first. His hands were stretched forward, and together they made a sign of an appeal, as if he were to start his tricks from the very word ‘go’. He wore a dark long coat, unusually long for a regular city-walker to wear. A pure leather - for sure, for whatever lights there were on the footpath, were reflected and left a glistening effects to the surroundings. His face was covered, not from some masks, or any clothing, but the top hat he wore, hid his face completely beneath that, making him look like a faceless monster.

She, though being a bold city girl, suddenly tasted fear out of nowhere. She looked around, and realised the road was unusually lonely that night.

“Who are you?” She shouted.

“I show people tricks – magic tricks. Tricks that they enjoy. In return they give me money. Only if they get entertained, that is.” The man smiled from beneath his dark hat.

A high class beggar, perhaps? Rinita thought.

The dark face smiled again. Another silent smile.

“…but certainly not a beggar.” He clarified.

It was her turn to be amazed now. He read her mind. How could he? It was really something extraordinary. Rinita got interested.

“Well,” the man continued, “Then you will be more fascinated to see this” as he drew a piece of brown cloth from his pocket and whirled it round her head.

Rinita blinked. And then when she looked at his hands again, the piece of cloth was gone. But instead, she saw a brown hawk sitting in his left shoulder. A living, brown hawk. Its head was still, bent at an angle that gave her a feel that it has been watching her since ages with its eyes fixed on hers.

“Every magician has a pet. He’s mine.” The voice said.

Rinita gave a sigh of relief.

And then after five more minutes of tricks and entertainment, the man paused.

“So… are you ready for my last magic? The magic of all magics, the queen of the best magics in the world – are you ready for it? “

Rinita smiled. The man certainly knew how to build up a stage to perform something. But the only problem was that, she was very late.

“I am sorry, I’ll have to go. I am very late tonight. And besides, my family will be worried.”

The man fell silent. He drew his hands closer, as if he didn’t expect it to happen. And then he said, “This is the magic where I create fire. Don’t you want to watch it?”

She looked at him. This silence, it was going to kill her anyway.

“Never mind.” The man laughed out. “You have your urgency. So until we meet again, good bye.” He took his hat off and brought it down to present a full bow.

Rinita looked at his eyes now, as he stood on his feet straight. They were brownish, and had a yellow flame in them. She had always heard about the eyes those magicians have… attractive, gorgeous, deep and appealing. There was something in his eyes that asked something to her. And she realised she could neither move or take her away from that place to anywhere, as if her body was stoned to death at the same place for ages.

The hawk flew away, with a sudden cry, as the darkest paths of the city remained silent, with the half-moon hovering in the December sky amongst the thin fog spread across the city. The high rise buildings in the distant places remained the proof of a man walking under a dark top hat, throwing a piece of white paper which resembled something like a visiting card to the body which lied still in the footpath…hands spread, head bent and eyes that were not going to see anything of this mortal world anymore. And a thin bloodline ended in the nearby drain which seemed to start somewhere near the neck. She was dead.

With silence, the piece of paper fell somewhere very near the body. And then two words appeared in red out of nowhere in it. It was the last trick of him for that night.

Skyfall (lyrics)

This is the end
Hold your breath and count to ten
Feel the earth move and then
Hear my heart burst again

For this is the end

I’ve drowned and dreamt this moment
So overdue I owe them
Swept away, I’m stolen

Let the sky fall

When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together

Let the sky fall

When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together
At skyfall
At skyfall

Skyfall is where we start

A thousand miles and poles apart
Where worlds collide and days are dark
You may have my number, you can take my name
But you’ll never have my heart

Let the sky fall

When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together

Let the sky fall

When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together
At skyfall

[2x]

(Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall)

Where you go I go

What you see I see
I know I’d never be me
Without the security
Of your loving arms
Keeping me from harm
Put your hand in my hand
And we’ll stand

Let the sky fall

When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together

Let the sky fall

When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together
At skyfall

Let the sky fall

We will stand tall
At skyfall
