Notes from a living room: 26

IPL auction 5 ended, and tell you what, the game has become more interesting than ever.

Crucial buys

1. Rabindra Jadeja goes to CSK for 2.00 M.

2. Brendon McCullum goes to KKR for 0.90 M.

3. Muralitharan was picked up by the RCB for 0.22 M.

4. R Vinay Kumar was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping 1.00 M.

5. West Indies' Sunil Narine was bought by KKR surprisingly for .70 M.

6. After the lunch break (...and hence I failed to watch the show), Marchant de Lange of South Africa was bought by KKR for .50 M.

Analyses.

For KKR, it's going to be an interesting season altogether. They have used their money wisely, Sunil Narine is a good buy according to me, as is De Lange. Narine can be a supplement for Sakib-Al-Hasan and in my opinion, Narine with his unorthodox action and off spin, can proved to be crucial in the first six overs. De Lange and the last year buy Pattinson brings the right mix of pace in the team.

Just collected the following information from the wikipedia about De Lange. "Prior to his cricketing career, de Lange was a javelin thrower hence his ability to attain such impressive pace from a short run-up."

Having an experienced campaigner as Brett Lee in your side as well as young blood like these make the team flexible. Also, with McCullum coming back into the side, I guess it's time to say good bye to Brad Haddin, who has been out of form. The team looks in good shape, with Kallis and Gambhir at the top followed by McCullum, M. Tiwari, Ten Doeschate, Morgan and Y. Pathan in the middle. Looking forward to the IPL season five like anything.
